Preparing for Puppy Arrival

What to expect and how to prepare for when your puppy goes home:

New HHS families always have our support. This is especially true after they take their new puppy home.  We will stay in close contact during the first few months by checking in with all new families.  We promise we will check in less frequently each week.  Please expect us to text, message, and possibly call you. Additionally, we highly encourage questions from families and love receiving updated pictures and videos. 

What should you expect to get with your puppy? 

Folder Containing

  • Medical record: documenting all administered medicines and have health certificates supporting a clean bill of health along with vet name, address, and phone number.  

  • Pages of customized support created by HHS with the help of AKC.ORG and other sources.

  • Registration (AKC/CKC/APRI) if applicable

  • Contract

Goody Bag Containing:

  • Baggie of current food

  • Water bowl

  • Toys (soft toys that smell like litter mates and chew toys)

After puppies go to their new home, I will check in frequently to see how he/she and you are adapting to the change.  I am available for questions.

Puppies Learn & Play

We don't only care and love our puppies...we also work with them to build their confidence and ease the transition with their new and homes.

Puppies have been working on grass pad and (all-natural pine) litter training.  They do not go set foot on the outside ground before going home to new family.

Puppies are learning about sleeping comfortably in a comfy bed and open crate. 

Puppies are meeting new people! They are socializing and playing with children and adults.

Puppies are being exposed to safe, new sights and sounds. This includes vacuums, TVs and LOTS of talking!

HHS Contract 
  • You are required to notify us here at HHS if you are no longer able to keep your HHS puppy/dog. No matter how long of time it has been since you adopted.
  • All puppies have a health guarantee. Because I believe in NuVet I offer to extend my health guarantee when you order and provide NuVet vitamins to your puppy/dog.
  • All puppies have been checked by vet at least twice, vaccines as age appropriate, and de-wormed as age appropriate. Declaws removed and tail docked. NOTE: if you would like natural tails, please let me know ahead of time, I can leave tails natural at your request!
  • You must discuss and have approval for breeding of HHS puppy/dog at time of reserve/purchase. This is part of the contract.
